HISTORY

SINCE 2015

The family roots, the feeling of belonging to, the love for their territory, the recovery of traditions, the creation of opportunities, cultural growth, these are some of the reasons that have led the brothers Andrea and Marco Caputo to start viticulture 10 years ago.

In december 2005, thanks to the help of their family, they purchased an agricultural land of about 14 hectares  located in the town of Serre, a hamlet of Borgo Partenope, in the countryside of Cosenza (the fund is included in the DOP Terre di Cosenza subarea DONNICI), which is spread over a hill surrounded by ancient olive groves and old vineyards now abandoned, up to decline in a valley with eccellent exposure to the south, south-west located about 450 meters above sea level, and situated on the slopes of the Sila plateau.

Despite the difficulty of steep slopes for the processing and mechanization of crops, after some years of preventive soil preparation, in 2008 they plant a vineyard of about 4,5 hectars, in the choise of the vine varieties to be planted priority importance was given  to the native vines of the territory , and in particular sweet magliocco (red berry) and pecorello (white berry), and in 2015, after years of work and sacrifice, a winery was created with a show-room and tasting-room attached.  The aim was to create products of excellence that can enhance the typicality of the territory.

SCOPRI I NOSTRI VINI

SERRA TORZANO

 

Typology: Dry red wine from integrated agriculture

Alcohol content: 13,5% vol.

Variety of grapes: Magliocco 100%

Production area:  Borgo Partenope,C/da Serre, Cosenza, Italy.

Vineyard: Loose soil, stony, dry, draining and rich in minerals, only in very    few places moderately clayey. Vineyards with young plants, with exposure to South and South West, 450 meters abovesea-level.

Cultivation form:  Spurred cordon

Yield per hectare: 70 quintals

Vinification: Maceration with peels for 15/20 days with controlled temperature.

Aging: Refinement in steel for about 6 months and  3 months in bottles.

 

 

 

PETRARA

 

Typology: Dry white wine from integrated agriculture.

Alcohol content:  13% vol.

Variety of grapes:   Pecorello 100%

Production area:    Borgo Partenope, C/da Serre, Cosenza, Italy.

Vineyard:  Loose soil, stony, dry, draining and rich in minerals, only in very few places moderately clayey. Vineyards with young plants, with exposure to South and South West, 450 meters above sea-level.

Cultivation form: Spurred cordon

Yield per hectare: 70 quintals

Vinification: Soft pressing of the grapes, and fermentation at controlled temperature.

Aging: Refinement in steel for about 6 months. In bottle at least 2 months.

 

VINI

SCOPRI I NOSTRI VINI

ISPICO

 

Typology: Rosè wine from integrated agriculture

Alcohol content:  13,5% vol.

Variety of grapes:   Magliocco 80%, Greco Nero 20%

Production area:    Borgo Partenope, C/da Serre, Cosenza, Italy.

Vineyard: Loose soil, stony, dry, draining and rich in minerals, only in very few places moderately clayey. Vineyards with young plants, with exposure to South and South West, 450 meters above sea-level.

Cultivation form: Spurred cordon

Yield per hectare: 70 quintals

Vinification: Soft pressing of the grapes, and fermentation with  controlled temperature.

Aging: Refinement in steel for about 6 months. In bottle at least 2 months.

 

CAPUMASCA D.O.P.

 

Typology:  Dry red wine brq  from integrated  agriculture

VARIETY OF GRAPES: Magliocco 100%

ANNUAL PRODUCTION: 600 bottles

Production area:  Borgo Partenope, C/da Serre, Cosenza, Italy.

VINEYARD:  Loose soil, stony, dry, draining and rich in minerals, only in very few places moderately clayey. Vineyards with young plants, with exposure to South and South West, 450 meters above sea-level.

Cultivation form: Spurred cordon

Yield per hectare: 60 quintals

Vinification: Maceration with peels for 15/20 days with controlled temperature

Aging: Refinement  in French oak  barrels for about 8 months and in bottle about 5 months.
